Opportunity Expired
GovTechTalent Graduate Programme is looking for a range of candidates from all backgrounds, communities and qualifications to support the development of New Zealand's digital infrastructure.
Kicking off in February 2022, GovTechTalent gives you the opportunity to spend two years working in three different roles, across three different government departments/agencies – with the ultimate goal of finding the work you love.
Every graduate's experience looks different, as you explore three different roles with a unique digital focus. Because of this, an interest in the digital world
is important – but you are not required to be from a technological background
If your answer is yes to any of the above, then GovTechTalent is for you!
GovTechTalent ensures you don't get stuck on one path. With continual support from a range of mentors and alumni at the top of their field, this programme provides the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career and make meaningful, long-lasting connections within government.
The programme is divided into a series of 'workstreams':
Regardless of the workstream, you'll be supporting your area using your expertise. For example, you could be working as a marketing assistant, UX designer, human resource advisor, cyber-security consultant, policy advisor, and more – depending on your qualification. In your second and third rotations, you'll be able to influence which projects you work on, while your first rotation will be carefully selected for you by your GovTechTalent mentors to ensure you're set up for success.
Flexibility and freedom
Most grad programmes lock you into a particular role and industry, at a time when you aren't 100% where your career might take you. GovTechTalent is the most flexible and varied graduate programme available - giving graduates the opportunity to explore a range of different career paths, projects and organisations in the space of just two years.
Support and guidance
GovTechTalent allows you to build an extensive network of colleagues, friends and future employers as you move between roles and agencies – setting up a solid base to springboard you into future career opportunities.
Community
The transition from study into full-time work can be intimidating. GovTechTalent ensures graduates are given all the support they need, with continual guidance and
opportunities to work with mentors and alumni at the top of their field.
Connections
GovTechTalent graduate cohorts leave as a close-knit family – often building long-lasting personal and professional relationships, which continue as they transition into permanent roles
