As a consultant, I am often at the client site, helping them out with their data needs, which may include training, building reports, or showing them different approaches to their data.
Experienced, London
As a trainee consulting analyst, I have signed a 2-year contract with The Data School. For the first 4 months, I received in-class training from some of the world's leading business intelligence experts. The training was holistic, focusing on both the gritty technical aspects of BI, but also the soft skills a consultant should have. After this training period, each trainee completes 4 6-months placements with different clients of ours. I am now in the middle of my 2nd placement with one of the world's most prestigious consulting companies. My day-to-day responsibilities include: - Interacting with clients to identify BI needs. This includes junior-level staff but generally more C-level executives - Developing, updating, repairing, and improving Tableau dashboards and driving their adoption and use through the organization - Optimizing and creating technology solutions - mainly through the use of Alteryx - to ensure our client's data can reliably be sourced and refreshed in the Tableau dashboards - Develop ad-hoc technology solutions on a case-by-case basics (from sending automated alerts to stakeholders to using APIs to pull in external data)

When I have a steady pipeline of work - the work is thought-provoking, technical, and very interesting. Coupled with a relaxed working atmosphere (casual work attire, work under your own steam, etc.), I am able to be creative in solution design and really contemplate what the client needs to answer their data questions.
